BAVET, Cambodia: A new multi-million-dollar casino opened Friday in Cambodia near neighbouring Vietnam, in a bid to attract more foreign gamblers and further grow the country’s blossoming gambling industry.
The Titan King Casino, constructed a cost of more than 100 million dollars, opened its doors in Bavet, an eastern gaming town bordering Vietnam, about 120 kilometres (75 miles) from Phnom Penh.

PHNOM PENH, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) — Japan on Wednesday provided a package of demining equipment to the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA) to support its demining operation.
The hand-over ceremony was presided over by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen with the attendance of Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia Masafumi Kuroki and other government officials.
The equipment grant aid is worth 5.5 million U.S. dollars including 588 mine detectors, 44 deep-search detectors, spare parts for mine clearance machines and a mobile repair and maintenance workshop.

PHNOM PENH, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) — The USS Patriot, an Avenger- class countermeasures vessel from the 7th fleet based in Hawaii will make port in Cambodia’s coast of Sihanoukville early next week, according to a statement released Friday by the U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh.
The statement said the USS Patriot will begin a weeklong visit starting from Monday and to conduct exercises with the Cambodian Navy.
Sihanoukville province is located 230 kilometers southwest of Phnom Penh.
