“The Legend And The Hero I” or “Yutesil Akthi Teap I” is almost every Khmer’s favorite Chinese movie. Certainly is mine; learn alot at the same time about the war, the king, etc. Enjoy everyone, a great movie in Cambodian for Khmer people and listen to what other’s point of view:

Thida Poush Sar – Chinese Cambodian Movie

I like Chinese movie in Cambodian with a great storyline. In “Thida Poush Sar” there’s endless of fighting between the good and the evil. Every time I go to the Cambodian video store, this movie is rented to someone. For those of us Khmer, whose luck is bad as mine, you can enjoy this Chinese production here online for free of charge, continuous play to the end. People’s testimonials:

Cambodia Opens New Casino Near Vietnam Border

BAVET, Cambodia: A new multi-million-dollar casino opened Friday in Cambodia near neighbouring Vietnam, in a bid to attract more foreign gamblers and further grow the country’s blossoming gambling industry.

The Titan King Casino, constructed a cost of more than 100 million dollars, opened its doors in Bavet, an eastern gaming town bordering Vietnam, about 120 kilometres (75 miles) from Phnom Penh.

Officials said the new casino, which sprawls over 4.5 hectares of land and employs some 3,000 people, would help develop Cambodia’s economy.

“The opening of the new casino will help the government develop the country. It will attract a lot of foreigners,” said Hear Sopheaktra, an assistant to the casino’s president, Cambodian tycoon Kith Thieng.

Kith Thieng, who also owns hotels, a mobile phone operator and stakes in a bank and a television station, said in a message on the casino’s website that Bavet was becoming an entertainment centre “much like Las Vegas and Macau”.

Hear Sopheaktra told AFP that there were plans to list the casino on the Cambodian stock market, which government officials say will open later this year.

Cambodia generated revenue of more than 17 million dollars last year from some 30 casinos which are mainly dotted along the borders with Vietnam and Thailand, according to officials at ministry of finance.

The industry fuels the economies of several Cambodian cities, though the country remains desperately poor with more than 30 percent of its 14 million population living in poverty.

After several years of double-digit growth fuelled mainly by tourism and garment exports, Cambodia economy has been buffeted by the global economic downturn. — AFP
